Boost Your Bookings & Revenues - by doing LESS and not MORE

Boosting revenue growth for your bed and breakfast business.

Here's the truth: You can boost your BnB business revenue by 15-30% using hidden leverage points you already have in your operation.

However, most BnB operators are overwhelmed trying to do MORE of everything - more social media, more paid ads, more blog posts, more trade shows - because they're looking for something - anything - that can give them results.

We are the only consultancy dedicated to helping bed and breakfast operators find and activate their existing assets to dramatically increase bookings while doing less work.

Tim Robertson

I've spent years working with tourism operators across three continents - from Canada's Arctic to South America - helping them uncover hidden opportunities in their businesses.

My methodology has consistently delivered 15-30% (or more) booking increases for operators while reducing their workload. Unlike traditional marketing advice or online experts that push for 'more of everything,' I specialize in finding the leverage points that already exist in your operation.

Tourism Marketing Expertise

Working with an organization funded by Global Affairs Canada, I am sent on in-person assignments to help tourism operators with their marketing. I usually only have one week or so to figure out what will boost the client's digital marketing results.
Over time you start to see some patterns, such as operators being in  overwhelm or not knowing where to focus. Being an "outsider" helps, because when you are "inside" of the problem, it's hard to see what actions to prioritize.

How are you spending your time/money?

What you might be doing: Reading articles and watching videos about marketing and social media
What you could be doing: Look for leverage in how you are viewed in the marketplace.
For Refugio de Santiago in Peru we changed one word in their marketing material. That year they saw a 30% increase in bookings and 20%  increase in revenue. This is a picture of Carlos, part of the husband and wife team. The increased business helped them build a new indoor dining room. We made other changes as well, but that "one word" was significant.
What you might be doing: Trying to write blog posts to promote your website.
What you could be doing: Leveraging what you already have.
Yellowknife Sportfishing had a great social media presence, with a lot of business coming in from Facebook. However, the website needed work. We reconfigured the landing pages to make it easier to book trips, and boosted the SEO aspects of the site. Business doubled and the operator had to buy another fishing boat to handle all the summer bookings.
We're pictured here ice fishing in winter, another package they offer!
What you might be doing: Always fighting for guests by searching for new avenues of promotion.
What you could be doing: Leveraging your reputation.
Horseback Adventures has been in operation near Jasper for over 25 years. All the goodwill they have created amounts to something! We uncovered a source of over 4,000 enquiries and leads that were not being utilized. As well, they are tapping into a $20,000 grant for Indigenous businesses to upgrade their website.
What you might be doing: Agonizing over your social media presence and the volume of your posts
What you could be doing: Find leverage in your sales process.
Fundo San José Ecolodge in Peru changed how they managed their Facebook enquiries. Instead of making more posts or spending money on ads, they changed their sales process. After the change, revenue increased by 15%.
What you might be doing: Considering spending money on government programs or expensive trade shows.
What you could be doing: Leverage the right platform.
Bucketlist Tours was well known locally, and had connections to the local tourism board for Northern Lights tours. What they were missing was international exposure. Once on the right platform, they started booking guests from all over the world.

You can continue to be overwhelmed with all the options you have, and failing to make a difference to your bookings and revenue because:

  • You're listening to online marketing experts, social media advice and doing “more” of everything ...
  • You're missing the hidden assets and leverage points you already have, leaving money on the table
  • Or you can work with me to discover where you can boost results with either less work or work that makes an impact to what counts: your bookings and revenues!

Again, this for tourism operators who want to grow their business, but are struggling with the overwhelm of what channels or activities they should invest time and money in. This is what we will do together:

  • Leverage the assets you already have to boost visibility, bookings, and revenues
  • Eliminate wasted time on ineffective marketing activities
  • Get more direct bookings without increasing your marketing budget
  • Develop a clear, focused strategy that lets you stop chasing every new marketing trend
  • Feel confident knowing exactly which activities drive real results for your business

So instead of spending time on activities and tasks that have questionable value, have me spend some time with you to examine your operation.

I’ll want to see everything in your marketing that is working and not working. We’ll do a deep dive together, to uncover the hidden gems that can give you a substantial boost to both your bookings and revenues.

Once I give you the recommendations you are free to execute them at your own pace. You can also hire me on retainer for further guidance if necessary. I find most of my clients can execute what they have learned just from our exploration sessions alone!

I am not in the “agency” business, seeking to keep employees busy, but act as an independant consultant who gets satisfaction and value contributing to the tourism and hospitality industry through this methodology.
